Hundreds of members of kibbutz Gevim are celebrating Shavuot Jewish Holiday in an open field outside Gaza Strip in Israel on Sunday 08 May 2008. This year many kibbutz’s around Gaza Strip decided to cancel their yearly celebrations because of the high risk of terror attacks over their communities by terrorists attacking them by firing Qassam/Kassam rockets or mortar shells from Gaza Strip. Shavuot-The Festival of Weeks and Day of the First Fruits ,marks the conclusion of the Counting of the Omer and the day the Torah was given to the Jewish people at Mount Sinai and on Shavuot they were given the Torah and became a nation committed to serving God.
