Hamir Sail Israel 2008Sunday, June 8, 2008 80 Yachts with 200 sailors from 20 foreign countries arrived at Ashkelon Marina as part of Hamir Sail 2008 on Sunday 08 May 2008. Hamir Sail started at the end if April in Istanbul Turkey and sailed through Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon and Israel towards Port Said in Egypt. The purpose of the sailing expedition is to tie up the cooperation between the countries in the area and to promote peace in the Middle East.
