DRAGON SLAYER

An opiate dependent patient is getting withdrawal and craving treatment in the ANR unit at the Barzilai Hospital in Israel on Wednesday 4 April 2007. The Waismann technique, known as Rapid Opiate Detoxification, takes but one day of medical treatment, the drug addict\'s opiate-dependent body is flushed in a system-cleansing process that takes mere hours. During an anesthesia-induced unconsciousness, the patient goes through the symptoms of withdrawal at an accelerated rate. Waismann has treated thousands of patients to date, with 65 percent of the patients who are treated remaining drug free after one year. Photo by Rafael Ben-Ari/ZUMA Press.
