MIDEAST ISRAEL IDF PREPARES GAZA GROUND OPERATION TO FREE KIDNAPPED SOLDIERAn Israeli tank is on its way to Gaza Strip border in preparation to enter Gaza Strip and is passing an Ashkelon intersection on Monday, June 26, 2006 as IDF prepares Gaza ground op to free kidnapped soldier. Diplomatic efforts were underway on Monday in order to secure the release of the kidnapped IDF soldier, cpl. Gilad Shalit after the soldier was kidnapped on Sunday after an attack by at least three Palestinian factions killed an IDF officer and soldier and wounded four others near the Kerem Shalom crossing in the southern Gaza Strip.
