ISRAEL OPENS NEW SHELTER DARFUR REFUGEES

The State of Israel opened today, a temporary refugee camp for Darfur refugees inside Ketziot prison in southern Israel on Tuesday 17 July 2007. The minister of Internal Security Mr. Avi Dichter visited today the first Darfur refugees to stay at the camp. According to statistics, every night 60 refugees cross the Israeli border from Egypt on their way to the holy land in hope of receiving shelter and asylum. Photo by Rafael Ben-Ari/Chameleons Eye.
