Two Israeli Air Force Pilots Killed as Training Plane Crashes in Southern Israel

A veteran Israeli Air Force pilot and a cadet were killed on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 in southern Israel when their training plane crashed in the Negev Desert. An initial inquiry raised the possibility that the crash was caused by human error. The plane that crashed was a French-made Fouga Magister which serves as the branch\'s primary training aircraft. The officer who was killed was a major in the reserves who worked as a flight instructor. Photo by Rafael Ben-Ari/Chameleons Eye.
