Rocket Hits South Israel as Residents Protest Against Gaza Rocket FireSouth Israel residents protest against increased rocket fire from Gaza Strip on Thursday November 20, 2008. Palestinian militants fired a Kassam rocket into the western Negev on Thursday as residents of Ashkelon protested against the upsurge in cross-border attacks from Gaza. The Kassam rocket attack was the latest infringement of a five-month Israel-Hamas truce in the Gaza Strip. The rocket, which struck an open area in the Sha\'ar Hanegev regional council, caused neither casualties nor property damage. Gunmen from Gaza have fired dozens of rockets at Israel in the past two weeks after Israel launched raids that have killed about a dozen gunmen, and closed crossing points with Gaza.
